- Reaching a record number of 921,718 tourists, Minister David Collado described the arrival of tourists in July as extraordinary.
Dominican tourism continues to reach record figures, registering the arrival of 7,700,118 visitors in the first seven months of the year, a growth of 7% compared to 2025, 10.4% compared to 2024 and 69.6% compared to 2019
Collado reported that in the January-July period the country received 5,885,259 tourists by air, and 1,814,859 cruise passengers
“Adding these two numbers of arrivals give us the large number of 7,700,118 visitors in just 7 months, the highest number reached in that period in the history of Dominican tourism,” Collado said.
He reported that in July alone the country received 1,083,448 visitors, a growth of 2.9% compared to the same month in 2025, 6.4% compared to 2024 and 60.6% compared to 2019.
He explained that in July the country received 921,718 tourists, by air, an increase of 6.7% compared to the same month in 2025, as well as 161,730 cruise passengers.
The main countries of origin of tourists in July were the USA with 48%, Canada 7%, Argentina and Colombia 6%, Puerto Rico 5%, Mexico and the UK 3% and Spain 2%.
The airports that received the most flights in July were Punta Cana with 58%, Las Américas 24%, Cibao 13%, Puerto Plata 3%, La Romana and Samaná 1%.
The largest number of flights came from the USA with 50%, Panama with 7%, Colombia and Puerto Rico with 6%, Canada with 5%, Peru and Spain with 3% and Argentina, Mexico and Cuba with 2%.
Collado also reported that in July hotel occupancy was 76%, while tourist satisfaction levels were 4.4 on a scale of 5 points.
Because of that level of satisfaction, 91% of visitors say they would return, and 59% would recommend the destination.
