During the first half of 2026, the Dominican Republic exported US$7.90 billion, an increase of US$1.02 billion compared to the same period in 2025, representing a 14.8% year-over-year growth, according to the National Statistics Office (ONE) in its January–June 2026 Exports Bulletin.

Compared with the US$6.88 billion exported during the first six months of 2025, the latest figures also reflect a 17.4% year-over-year increase in June exports.

According to the report, the overall growth was primarily driven by gold and raw tobacco exports, which together contributed an additional US$828.4 million, making them the principal drivers of export expansion during the period.

The bulletin also noted that Free Trade Zone (FTZ) exports totaled US$4.40 billion, representing a 3.7% increase compared with the first half of 2025.

Meanwhile, national exports recorded the strongest performance, rising 35.2% year-over-year and accounting for 42.2% of total exports.

The remaining 2.0% of exports, corresponding to other customs regimes, declined by 5.5% during the same period.
