The Dominican Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores) celebrated the V edition of its “Tourism Investment Forum” with a year-end marked by historical figures for the sector, in particular investments of more than one billion dollars in projects in 2022.
Asonahores Chairman, Rafael Blanco Tejera, emphasized that the sector generates more than 570 thousand direct and indirect jobs and that the country will close this year with more than US $ 8,400 million dollars of income for the country and with a weight of foreign investment in tourism accounting for more than 30% of the total that enters the country and a total impact on 16% of GDP.
At the event, the Governor of the Central Bank, Héctor Valdez Albizu, was recognized for his great contributions to the tourism sector.
