Arajet, the low-cost airline of the Caribbean, received its tenth Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft named “Los Haitises.” This aircraft showcases a special design with the national flag painted along the entire fuselage.
The reception of this aircraft was led by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, and the founder of Arajet, Victor Pacheco.
About the Event
The Vice President highlighted that Arajet is a platform that allows the continued promotion of the Dominican Republic’s tourism offer and is a demonstration of the government’s support for private initiatives.
The director and founder of the Dominican airline Arajet, Victor Pacheco, described this aircraft as special, destined to be the first to travel to the United States.
Pacheco emphasized that the airline, in just a year and a half, has already transported more than one million passengers, increasing both the number of tourists coming to the Dominican Republic and the number of transit passengers using Arajet to connect to their countries.
The event received support from the Director of the Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) and representatives from Boeing Latin America.
About aircraft “Los Haitises”
“Los Haitises” is a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with a seating configuration of 185 seats. It landed in Dominican territory directly from the Boeing factory in Seattle, United States. Along with Pico Duarte, Valle Nuevo, Jaragua, Ojos Indígena, the Three Eyes, as well as Saona Island, Lago Enriquillo, Laguna Redonda, and Bahía de las Águilas, it continues to increase the capacity and fleet that have made the Dominican Republic the hub of the Caribbean.
The young and successful airline baptizes its aircraft with names of protected areas of the Dominican Republic as part of its social responsibility policy to promote the importance of environmental preservation and care.
