Veintiséis de las principales cadenas hoteleras españolas gestionan unos 247 hoteles en el área del Caribe. Meliá, Barceló, Riu, Iberostar y Bahía Príncipe encabezan el listado –administran el 59% de esa planta. República Dominicana, Caribe Mexicano y Cuba concentran alrededor del 90% de los hoteles operados por las compañías ibéricas, presentes también, en menor medida, en Jamaica, Aruba, Bahamas, Haití, Puerto Rico y Saint Martin.

 Los destinos Punta Cana, en República Dominicana; Cancún y Riviera Maya, en el Caribe Mexicano, y Varadero, en Cuba, aglutinan cerca del 54% de estos hoteles. Le siguen Puerto Plata, Santo Domingo, Samaná, Bayahibe y La Romana, en República Dominicana; Playa del Carmen y Cozumel, en el Caribe Mexicano; y Jardines del Rey, Cayos de Villa Clara y La Habana, en Cuba; a más de Montego Bay, en Jamaica, y Palm Beach, en Aruba, entre otros.
