Todo parece indicar que a la región sur del país le ha llegado la hora de explotar sus atractivos turísticos. Cuando se piensa en vacacionar en esta parte de República Dominicana, sólo hay un enfoque en Barahona. Sin embargo, Pedernales tendrá ahora la oportunidad de experimentar las sensaciones del sector mimado del gobierno local, el turismo.
La inversión que apunta a Bahía de las Águilas es sorprendente, lo que no se esperaba por ahora. Varias de las empresas hoteleras más grandes del mundo acompañarán el próximo mes al presidente Danilo Medina a este destino con la finalidad de explorar la construcción de más de 15,000 habitaciones en esa zona.
Lo favorable de explotar esta industria en Pedernales es que necesariamente conllevará a la construcción de puertos y un aeropuerto.
La competencia es buena y en turismo no se queda detrás, al nivel que otras provincias cercanas a Bahía de las Águilas se activarán y encenderán sus pilas para recibir “alguito” de esas inversiones que respaldarán a Pedernales.
Estas 15,000 habitaciones que estarían en construcción no sólo servirán para el fomento del sur, sino que también una vez finalizadas generarán grandes beneficios para la comunidad mediante la generación de empleos.
El senador por la provincia, Dionis Sánchez, tuvo razón al decir que Pedernales debe ir preparándose para el desarrollo turístico que le espera.
Aprovechar Bahía de las Águilas en beneficio del país es una muestra de que esta zona tiene una valoración muy alta para el ecoturismo y demuestra la efectividad de la demanda interpuesta que logró la nulidad de más de mil títulos de propiedad en favor del Estado dominicano.

Senator for the province, Dionis Sánchez, was right in saying that Pedernales needs to get ready for the forthcoming tourism development.
Availing of Bahía de las Águilas for the benefit of the country is a sign that this area is of great value for ecotourism and demonstrates the effectiveness lawsuit that lead to the cancellation of more than a thousand title deeds in favor of the Dominican State.
