- First time PUJ enters list of 100 best airports in the world
Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) was recognized as the best airport in Central America and the Caribbean at the World Airport Awards 2026, a global benchmark award for quality in the airport industry that rewards the airports best valued by all passengers around the world.
The announcement was made this Wednesday in London, during a ceremony held during the Passenger Terminal Expo (PTE) World, where the airports best valued by passengers are awarded.
Based on a global survey by the firm Skytrax that measures the user’s experience, this is the first time PUJ obtained this distinction and entered the list of the 100 best airports in the world.
Recent improvements to Terminal B, focused on expanding operational capacity and raising the level of comfort, have contributed to strengthening the travel experience and its positioning as an international hub in the Caribbean.
“This award for Punta Cana Airport highlights passengers’ growing recognition of its improved facilities. The continued investment is strengthening its attractiveness to travelers and reaffirming the airport’s role as one of the most important international hubs in the Caribbean,” said Skytrax CEO, Edward Plaisted.
