The Director General of the Center for Industrial Development and Competitiveness (Proindustria) visited the La Vega Free Zone Park, where he observed the growth and development of this important industrial space, which currently houses 51 industrial warehouses and generates 4,200 direct jobs in sectors such as textiles, footwear, tobacco, and recycling.

During his tour, the official held a meeting with Rocío Ángeles, the park’s administrator, with whom he discussed the progress and challenges of this free zone, considered the second-largest public free zone in the country. The meeting focused on expansion opportunities and strategies to strengthen the province’s industrial ecosystem.

He also visited the facilities of Sakira Manufacturing, a textile manufacturing company specializing in the production of sports uniforms, led by engineer Juan Díaz. This company represents 45% of the park’s total employment, highlighting its impact on job creation in the community. During the visit, discussions covered the company’s new projects and its contribution to the growth of the manufacturing sector in the region.

As part of the agenda, the Proindustria director also met with the La Vega Business Association, where industrialists and representatives from various sectors shared concerns and proposals to strengthen the park and improve the operating conditions of the companies established there. The meeting facilitated an exchange of ideas on incentive policies, infrastructure improvements, and competitiveness strategies.

In line with its commitment to industrial sector development, Proindustria presented the industrial registration certificate to Baltimore Dominicana, recognizing its compliance with the requirements established by the Industrial Development and Competitiveness Law. This registration allows industries to access benefits such as tax incentives, technical assistance, and support programs for modernization and expansion.

Industrial registration is a key mechanism of Proindustria to strengthen the country’s manufacturing sector, providing companies with tools and resources to enhance their productivity and competitiveness. Through this program, sustainable growth and the formalization of industries are promoted, contributing to the strengthening of the national economy.
