Haina, San Cristóbal.- Aimed at boosting the growth of the country’s agri-food sector and increasing its exports from Haina port, President Luís Abinader inaugurated the first TEGRA Port Terminal and Agrifood Industrial Park here today, with an investment of more than 40 million dollars, located in the Port of Haina, providing unloading services to bulk carriers.

President Abinader said that the terminal is established as a fundamental axis in the agricultural value chain benefitting food safety and is dedicated to serving the agricultural sector through the mobilization of raw materials, food manufacturing and fertilizers.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Ministers of Agriculture, Limber Cruz; of Industry and Commerce, Víctor (Ito) Bisonó, and of Labor, Luís Miguel Decamps.

Also present were Alejandro Campos, president of the Presidential Commission for Modernization and Port Security; Jean Luís Rodríguez, general director of the Dominican Port Authority; Francisco Leonis Fernández, president of the Dominican Livestock Institutions; Fernando Durán, administrator of Banco Agrícola, and Messrs. Manuel Curbelo and Félix García, shareholders of TEGRA.
