The world’s largest hotel chain operates 14 hotels in the Dominican Republic and eleven currently under construction.

Development agents for the Marriott International hotel chain are constantly visiting the Dominican Republic to meet with potential hotel investors interested in developing new holiday destinations in the country, such as Pedernales and Punta Bergantín in Puerto Plata.

Brock Hochhalter, director of Marriott International for the Dominican Republic and Haiti, highlighted the favorable investment climate and the Dominican tourism sector’s great potential.

Hochhalter said that at the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, Marriott International had 14 properties in the Dominican Republic, represented in 3,744 rooms and nine brands.

This means a total of 43 properties with 11,013 rooms across the Caribbean.

He also reported that the brand has 11 projects currently under construction, citing St. Regis in Cap Cana, and Aloft in Santo Domingo, among others.

“The largest hotel chain in the world reaffirms its commitment in the Dominican Republic, positioning itself as one of the main players in the country’s hotel market,” he said.
