The free zone sector achieved outstanding growth in its exports during the period January to October 2024, reaching US$7,268.7 million.
This progression represents an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period in 2023.
In October of this year, free zones registered exports of US$769.8 million, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 8.1% compared to the US$ 712.0 million exported in October last year.
This outstanding performance is characterized by greater diversification in products and export destinations.
The United States continues to be the main market, with a year-on-year increase of 7.2%, going from US$538.9 million in October 2023 to US$577.6 million in the same month of 2024. In addition, exports to Haiti experienced a year-on-year growth of 16.3% in October 2024, marking its second consecutive month of expansion.
