Exports of goods will exceed US$ 13,000 million this year, which will break the record reached in 2021, said the Dominican Association of Exporters (Adoexpo).
Exports between January and October totaled US$ 10,507 million, for an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period in 2021 and exceeded the figures for 2021 month by month.
Dominican exports worth US$5,320 million were destined to the USA, accounting for 50.6% of the total; Haiti, with $892.7 million; Switzerland, with US$889.5 million, and Puerto Rico, with US$581.9 million. Next are the Netherlands, with US$389.5 million; India, with US$278.6 million; China, with US$231.5 million; South Korea, with US$140.8 million; Italy, with $123 million, and Germany, with $114.6 million.
The details were offered by the president and technical director of Adoexpo, Elizabeth Mena and José María Munné, when participating in the Hoy Economic Meeting.

They explained that exports from free zones amounted to US$ 6,552.8 million, for an increase of 10.4 %, while the national sector exported US$ 3,663.7 million, which represented an increase of 4.06 %.
The leading export was gold, worth $912.5 million; cigars, worth US$691.6 million; medical instruments, worth US$642.9 million; circuit breakers, worth US$527.6 million; precious metal jewelry, worth US$406.5 million, and ferronickel, worth US$374.9 million.
They highlighted the diversification process of exports and destination markets.
