The firm DMK Abogados and the organization The Foundation Global Group announced an agreement to carry out activities aimed at promoting new investments in the free zone sector of the Dominican Republic.
A joint statement from the entities says: “With this alliance, we are adding experience and resources to boost the growth of export processing zones, one of the determining sectors in the post-pandemic Dominican economic recovery and in the creation of jobs.”
“We have already begun talks with the senior management of the main export free zone industrial parks operating in the country as part of this initiative,” they explain.
The Foundation Global Group is represented by Carlos Rivera Vélez and Tulio Martí Perez, both with more than 30 years of experience in the local and international free zone sector. They have offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Carlos Rivera Vélez is a former President of the Puerto Rico Industries Association while Tulio Martí Pérez is considered one of the leading consultants in the Dominican Republic on issues concerning export free zones.
DMK Abogados has 30 years of experience serving the export free zone sector, including worldwide corporations and major Dominican companies and industrial parks.
Enrique De Marchena Kaluche, managing partner of the firm, said that this alliance aims to provide necessary comprehensive services in “a stellar moment of the development of industrial free zones”.
He recalled that DMK Abogados´ second client was a prominent multinational company in the textile industry in the Puerto Plata free zone in 1992, which was the beginning of an fervent journey accompanying the development of this sector.
