El país fue declarado capital de la cultura gastronómica del Caribe. Así lo informó la Academia Dominicana de Gastronomía.
La información fue ofrecida por la directiva de esa institución, en rueda de prensa en el Orlando Martínez. Hablaron luego de llevar la buena nueva al presidente Danilo Medina.
Se trata de un momento muy feliz para el país
Entregaron al Jefe de Estado una misiva. En ella le expresaron que con gran ilusión querían que fuera el primero en recibir la noticia.
La declaratoria fue hecha por la Academia Iberoamericana de Gastronomía. También por la Real Academia Española de Gastronomía.
Hablaron el presidente de la Asociación Dominicana de Gastronomía, Luis Ros y el secretario, Enrique de Marchena.
Ros indicó que se trató de un momento muy feliz informarle de la noticia al presidente Danilo Medina.
“Realmente es una feliz noticia y así la recibió el presidente Danilo Medina. Para nosotros es un orgullo”, dijo.
Promover la gastronomía dominicana
Manifestó que a partir de este momento se realizarán eventos para promover la gastronomía dominicana.
Esta declaratoria es vital para el desarrollo del turismo dominicano
Enrique de Marchena enfatizó que esta designación es de vital importancia para el desarrollo del turismo.
“Es una gran oportunidad para el continuo desarrollo del turismo dominicano. Y en particular de la ciudad de Santo Domingo”, apostilló.
El gran esfuerzo del Gobierno
Refirió que el Gobierno ha hecho un gran esfuerzo en lo que tiene que ver con la Zona Colonial.
De igual modo en lo que tiene que ver con la ley de incentivo al turismo. Se trata de la modificación de la Ley 151 sobre esta materia.
“Para impulsar lo que hoy todos conocemos como la manzana de la ciudad de Santo Domingo. Esta designación nos permite a nosotros otros niveles de promoción.
República Dominicana, plataforma ideal
En la misiva entregada al Presidente expresan que la designación convierte al país en la plataforma ideal. Una plataforma ideal para mercadear nuestra marca-país.
Estímulo al crecimiento económico, agradecimiento a Danilo Medina
Entre los aspectos que entienden representa este logro citan el estímulo al crecimiento económico. Asimismo, crea un escenario para exponer al mundo las bondades de la gastronomía criolla.
“Finalmente queremos dar constancia de que estamos agradecidos por el apoyo que usted nos ha brindado”.
En la rueda de prensa también estuvieron Sigfrido Pared y otros miembros de la agrupación.

The Dominican Academy of Gastronomy announced that Dominican Republic has been declared Gastronomical Capital of the Caribbean.
The director of this institute, Luis Ros, made the announcement at a press conference after giving the good news to President Danilo Medina.
Happy times for the country
They delivered a letter to the Head of State saying how they really hoped that he would be the first to hear the glad tidings.
The announcement was made by the Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy as well the Spanish Royal Academy of Gastronomy.
The president of Dominican Academy of Gastronomy, Luis Ros and the secretary, Enrique de Marchena, both spoke at the event.
Ros indicated that it was a very happy moment to report the news to President Danilo Medina.
«It really is great news and President Danilo Medina appreciates it as such. It´s a proud moment for us,” he said.
Promoting Dominican gastronomy
He said that as of now events will be held to promote Dominican cuisine.

Enrique de Marchena emphasized the vital importance of the announcement for the development of Dominican tourism.
“It is a great opportunity to continue developing Dominican tourism, especially in the city of Santo Domingo,” he added.
Great effort by the government
He said that the Government has made a great effort in terms of the Colonial Zone, similarly in terms of the tourism incentive law, namely the amendment of Law 158-01 on the subject.
