{"id":9241,"date":"2023-03-30T13:32:26","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T13:32:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/?p=9241"},"modified":"2023-03-31T21:47:57","modified_gmt":"2023-03-31T21:47:57","slug":"dominican-and-jamaican-companies-prepare-to-do-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/en\/dominican-and-jamaican-companies-prepare-to-do-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Dominican and Jamaican companies prepare to do business"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A delegation of 35 Jamaican companies is in the Dominican Republic to do business with their local counterparts and seek to increase trade between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dominican ambassador in Kingston, Angie Martinez, said that the country has developed a broad agenda to energize and strengthen trade relations with Jamaica and added that the Jamaican companies visiting the country are the result of the Dominican week developed a month ago in the Caribbean country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have developed a broad, intense, very comprehensive agenda, which has allowed us to boost relations between the Dominican Republic and Jamaica to levels never seen before, which, I must say, is the second largest trading partner of the Dominican Republic in the region,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The diplomat explained to Diario Libre that, as a result of the work which has been developed in the commercial area and the impulse of new businesses and investments between the two countries, the exports increased from 74 million to 121 million dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Likewise, she pointed out that, in the area of investment, in only one year they achieved more than 55 million dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have made more than 20 trade and investment missions to promote business between both countries, and just a month ago we just held the Dominican Week in Jamaica, where we had more than 60 Dominican companies participating and we had more than 160 companies from Jamaica. More than 300 people attended the business forum we held every day,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mart\u00ednez spoke prior to the opening of the &#8220;High-Level Dialogue on Trade and Investment&#8221; held at a hotel in the Dominican capital.
