{"id":9178,"date":"2023-03-13T22:04:09","date_gmt":"2023-03-13T22:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/?p=9178"},"modified":"2023-03-14T15:13:38","modified_gmt":"2023-03-14T15:13:38","slug":"a-world-bank-president-visits-dr-for-the-first-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/en\/a-world-bank-president-visits-dr-for-the-first-time\/","title":{"rendered":"A World Bank president visits DR for the first time"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The president of the World Bank (WB), David Malpass met with President Luis Abinader, which shows the confidence that international organizations have in the Dominican Government for its economic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first time a World Bank president has visited the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this visit, the World Bank redoubles its efforts and expands its portfolio of support to the country on issues of vital importance such as water, health, waste management, land use planning and the modernization of public administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice President Raquel Pe\u00f1a; the Ministers of Economy, Pavel Isa Contreras; Jos\u00e9 Vicente of the Treasury; Joel Santos of the Presidency; Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Paliza Administrative of the Presidency; Roberto \u00c1lvarez of Foreign Affairs; Miguel Ceara Hatton of Environment and Natural Resources; and V\u00edctor -Ito- Bison\u00f3 of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs also participated in the productive meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, from the World Bank, the Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean, Carlos Felipe Jaramillo; the director for Central America and the Dominican Republic, Michel Kerf; Country Manager, Ronke Ogunsulire; the executive director for the Dominican Republic, Erivaldo Gomes; the resident representative of the World Bank in the country, Alexandra Valerio and the resident representative of the International Finance Corporation, Carolina C\u00e1rdenas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, the country&#8217;s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached a remarkable annual growth of 4.9%, higher than the Latin American average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dominican Republic has overcome post-Covid-19 challenges and has also proven to be an economy that prepares for resilience to climate change with more equity and international shocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>World Bank President Malpass also visited Panama on his official tour.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The president of the World Bank (WB), David Malpass met with President Luis Abinader, which shows the confidence that international organizations have in the Dominican Government for its economic performance.
