On Sunday, President Luis Abinader headed the formal opening ceremony of Falc\u00f3n’s Resort by Meli\u00e1 All Suites Punta Cana hotel, the first tourist complex to open under the new brand based on leisure and entertainment, Falc\u00f3n’s Resorts By Meli\u00e1, which offers a unique hotel experience of “resortainment”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, Meli\u00e1 Hotels International CEO, Gabriel Escarrer, explained that the new complex is a combination of a hotel that will be closely linked to the Katmandu amusement park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“What we want is for the amusement park to remain in the hotel that accompanies the client during the next 24 hours that he will be with us,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also said that there will be many themes of experiences and technologies associated between the hotel and the park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Escarrer stressed that for the brand it is something very different from what the Dominican Republic has today in terms of tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Of the 47 countries that Meli\u00e1 is present worldwide, I always use the Dominican Republic as an example for being the country that has best managed Covid-19 and the great transformation of tourism here,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Falcon’s Resort by Meli\u00e1 All Suites Punta Cana, a five-star all-inclusive resort located on Bavaro Beach, is a multi-phase transformation of two existing Meli\u00e1 establishments, Paradisus Grand Cana and Garden Suites by Meli\u00e1, comprising 622 rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first phase has been renamed Paradisus Grand Cana and includes 432 luxury suites, three pools, nine specialty restaurants and a world-class spa and gym. The second phase, the rebranding of Garden Suites by Meli\u00e1, will include 190 rooms, which will be completed by the end of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The activity was attended by the first lady, Raquel Arbaje; Francisco Camps Orfila, Managing Director in the Dominican Republic of Meli\u00e1; the Minister of Tourism, David Collado; Juan Manuel Mart\u00edn de Oliva, Vice President of the Tourism Business Area of Banco Popular Dominicano; Enrique De Marchena, legal expert in tourism and foreign investment; Rafael Caballero, editor of Grupo Preferente, among other personalities linked to the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
