{"id":8648,"date":"2022-11-15T13:47:10","date_gmt":"2022-11-15T13:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/?p=8648"},"modified":"2022-11-15T21:46:34","modified_gmt":"2022-11-15T21:46:34","slug":"free-zones-grew-6-6-in-nine-months-of-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/en\/free-zones-grew-6-6-in-nine-months-of-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Free zones grew 6.6% in nine months of this year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Dominican Association of Free Zones (Adozona) reported that the performance of the sector in the first nine months of the year resulted in a growth of 6.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the figures released by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD), the first quarter saw a growth of 7.5%, the second of 9.8%, and the third quarter of 2.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exports from free zones were valued at approximately US $ 6,000 million, an increase of 11.7% compared to 2021, which amounted to approximately US $ 5,300 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The president of the Adozona, Luis Jos\u00e9 Bonilla, said that every year the free zone sector is stronger and more competitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The results have been exceeding our projections, I think this is a sign of the resilience of the free zones, their importance, and that the sector is definitely a pillar of the Dominican economy,&#8221; said Bonilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first quarter-2022, the value exported was US $ 1,865.6 million equivalent to a growth of 13.3%, while in the second quarter exported value was US $ 2,092.9 million, equivalent to a growth of 15.8%.
