{"id":12341,"date":"2026-05-14T17:23:29","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T17:23:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/?p=12341"},"modified":"2026-05-14T17:23:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T17:23:33","slug":"hyatt-mobilizes-more-than-800-thousand-tourists-a-year-to-the-dr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/en\/hyatt-mobilizes-more-than-800-thousand-tourists-a-year-to-the-dr\/","title":{"rendered":"Hyatt mobilizes more than 800 thousand tourists a year to the DR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plans to expand in the Dominican market with three new resorts in Punta Cana, about 20 thousand rooms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hyatt chain mobilizes more than 800,000 visitors annually to the Dominican Republic through its distribution network and now plans to expand its local operation to about 20,000 rooms with the development of three new resorts in Punta Cana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) event, organized by Asonahores, commercial vice president for DR, John Long, stated that the company currently operates 32 resorts and around 17 thousand rooms, through Hyatt Inclusive Collection, equivalent to about 27% of the country\u2019s total hotel accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Long indicated that they also promote internal tourist mobility through Amstar DMC, with more than 1.6 million guests transferred annually in transportation services and excursions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regional vice president of operations in the DR, David Ocete, reported that the Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana will open in August 2026, with 500 rooms, a precedent for this brand in the country. He added that plans are to open the Secrets Macao Beach Punta Cana by the end of 2026, with 406 rooms aimed exclusively at the adult segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also pointed out that the Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will open in 2029 with 650 rooms focused on family tourism, although it will include an <a>adults<\/a>-only building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ocete stressed that the chain currently accounts for about 35 thousand direct jobs in the country and plans to incorporate another 2 thousand employees for new hotel operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He specified that almost all of the hired labor is Dominican. He said that Hyatt started in the DR in 2013 with two resorts and less than a thousand rooms, and that, since then, has expanded rapidly, driven by the growth of the all-inclusive luxury model and the transformation of travelers&#8217; preferences.
