The Dominican Republic\u2019s tourism sector<\/strong> continues its sustained growth, welcoming 1,184,902 visitors in February<\/strong>, representing an increase of more than 13% compared to the same month last year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This was announced on Monday by Tourism Minister David Collado<\/strong>, who presented the sector\u2019s performance for February during an event held at the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the minister, the 1,184,902 visitors recorded in February represent a 13.1% increase compared to February 2025, an 11.9% increase compared to 2024, and a 64.2% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Of the total visitors received in February, 824,172 arrived by air<\/strong>, while 360,730 arrived by sea via cruise ships<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 824,172 air arrivals<\/strong> represent an 11.3% increase compared to February 2025<\/strong> and a 9% increase compared to 2024<\/strong>, the minister noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, the 360,730 cruise passengers<\/strong> represent a 17.6% increase compared to February of last year<\/strong>, an 18.9% increase compared to 2024<\/strong>, and a 209.6% increase compared to 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCombined, these arrivals bring us to the historic figure of 1,184,902 visitors in February alone<\/strong>, once again breaking our own record<\/strong>,\u201d Minister Collado emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The top source markets<\/strong> for visitors in February were the United States (39%), Canada (24%), Argentina (6%), France (4%), and Colombia (3%)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The airports receiving the highest volume of tourists<\/strong> during the month were Punta Cana (54%)<\/strong>, Las Am\u00e9ricas (24%)<\/strong>, Cibao (10%)<\/strong>, Puerto Plata (5%)<\/strong>, La Romana (3%)<\/strong>, and Saman\u00e1 (1%)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Minister Collado also highlighted that hotel occupancy exceeded 87% during the period<\/strong>, while tourist satisfaction levels reached 4.4 out of 5<\/strong>, according to visitor experience measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During his presentation, the minister affirmed that all source markets are performing positively<\/strong> and reiterated his outlook that 2026 will be an extraordinary year for Dominican tourism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Dominican Republic\u2019s tourism sector continues its sustained growth, welcoming 1,184,902 visitors in February, representing an increase of more than 13% compared to the same month last year.
