{"id":12201,"date":"2026-03-13T14:18:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T14:18:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/?p=12201"},"modified":"2026-03-13T14:18:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T14:18:10","slug":"tourism-grows-by-more-than-13-in-february-with-1184902-visitors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/en\/tourism-grows-by-more-than-13-in-february-with-1184902-visitors\/","title":{"rendered":"Tourism Grows by More Than 13% in February with 1,184,902 Visitors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Minister David Collado Forecasts an Extraordinary Year for Dominican Tourism<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Dominican Republic\u2019s tourism sector<\/strong> continues its sustained growth, welcoming <strong>1,184,902 visitors in February<\/strong>, representing an <strong>increase of more than 13% compared to the same month last year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was announced on Monday by <strong>Tourism Minister David Collado<\/strong>, who presented the sector\u2019s performance for February during an event held at the <strong>Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the minister, the <strong>1,184,902 visitors recorded in February represent a 13.1% increase compared to February 2025, an 11.9% increase compared to 2024, and a 64.2% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the total visitors received in February, <strong>824,172 arrived by air<\/strong>, while <strong>360,730 arrived by sea via cruise ships<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>824,172 air arrivals<\/strong> represent an <strong>11.3% increase compared to February 2025<\/strong> and a <strong>9% increase compared to 2024<\/strong>, the minister noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the <strong>360,730 cruise passengers<\/strong> represent a <strong>17.6% increase compared to February of last year<\/strong>, an <strong>18.9% increase compared to 2024<\/strong>, and a <strong>209.6% increase compared to 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCombined, these arrivals bring us to the historic figure of <strong>1,184,902 visitors in February alone<\/strong>, once again <strong>breaking our own record<\/strong>,\u201d Minister Collado emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>top source markets<\/strong> for visitors in February were <strong>the United States (39%), Canada (24%), Argentina (6%), France (4%), and Colombia (3%)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>airports receiving the highest volume of tourists<\/strong> during the month were <strong>Punta Cana (54%)<\/strong>, <strong>Las Am\u00e9ricas (24%)<\/strong>, <strong>Cibao (10%)<\/strong>, <strong>Puerto Plata (5%)<\/strong>, <strong>La Romana (3%)<\/strong>, and <strong>Saman\u00e1 (1%)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Collado also highlighted that <strong>hotel occupancy exceeded 87% during the period<\/strong>, while <strong>tourist satisfaction levels reached 4.4 out of 5<\/strong>, according to visitor experience measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his presentation, the minister affirmed that <strong>all source markets are performing positively<\/strong> and reiterated his outlook that <strong>2026 will be an extraordinary year for Dominican tourism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dominican Republic\u2019s tourism sector continues its sustained growth, welcoming 1,184,902 visitors in February, representing an increase of more than 13% compared to the same month last year.
