Santos explained that the electricity sector received US$743.5 million, equivalent to 25.7% of all FDI, positioning it as the largest recipient of foreign capital\u2014surpassing traditionally strong sectors such as tourism, mining, and real estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis progress is largely due to the momentum of renewable energy, which now accounts for 25% of the national energy matrix,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister noted that mining activity attracted US$420.6 million, equivalent to 14.5%, reflecting an extraordinary 440% growth, which confirms its strategic relevance within the Dominican economy\u2014especially in a challenging global context. \u201cThis performance reaffirms investors\u2019 confidence in the country\u2019s stability, its regulatory framework, and the energy transition vision promoted by the Dominican Government,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joel Santos pointed out that FDI in energy surpasses investment in tourism, which recorded US$647.7
