Our country today shows formidable and sustainable tourism growth, consolidating itself as one of the main engines of the national economy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bancalari emphasized that the development of <strong>sports tourism<\/strong> opens a scenario full of opportunities for investors. \u201cThis outlook represents a major and attractive investment opportunity for those who choose to bet on sports tourism\u2026 Betting on the Dominican Republic is always the right decision, and sports tourism is part of our future development and diversification,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asonahores Executive Vice President <strong>Aguie Lendor<\/strong> stressed that this edition of the forum seeks to elevate the level of analysis and trace concrete routes for public\u2013private collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a meeting designed to stimulate strategic reflection, public\u2013private collaboration and technical analysis of the opportunities offered by Dominican tourism. In this edition, we are convened by a particularly relevant theme: sports tourism,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lendor highlighted the economic, social, and urban impact of this segment. \u201cSports tourism is today a fundamental driver of economic development\u2026 The Dominican Republic is in an exceptional position to become a regional benchmark. This forum aims to transform that opportunity into a concrete path of action, investment, and future,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Three panels to define the vision for Dominican sports tourism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forum featured three specialized panels with sports leaders, business executives, and authorities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>World-Class Sports Tourism<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>High-profile international figures shared strategic perspectives on positioning the country as a global reference. Participants included <strong>Manuel Sajour<\/strong> (golf), <strong>Mario Monterrosa<\/strong> (Concacaf \u2013 football), and <strong>Junior Noboa<\/strong> (MLB \u2013 baseball), moderated by <strong>Andr\u00e9s Marranzini Grull\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Dominican Republic as a Multi-Sport Destination<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This panel explored expansion opportunities in disciplines such as equestrian sports, fishing, surfing, tennis, and padel. Speakers included <strong>Juan Bancalari, Jack Astacio, Jos\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez,<\/strong> and <strong>Joel Schad<\/strong>, moderated by <strong>Yerik P\u00e9rez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Featuring <strong>Luis\u00edn Mej\u00eda, Jos\u00e9 P. Monegro,<\/strong> and <strong>Augusto Castro<\/strong>, moderated by <strong>Manuel Luna<\/strong>, this panel discussed the event\u2019s impact on infrastructure, urban development, international projection, and the country\u2019s organizational capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recognition of Tourism Transactiones of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event concluded with the presentation of the <strong>Transactions of the Year<\/strong>, an award recognizing tourism investment initiatives that have exemplarily contributed to the growth, competitiveness, and sustainability of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transaction of the Year:<\/strong><br>Awarded to <strong>Punta Bergant\u00edn<\/strong>, a project made possible through the alliance of multiple institutions that structured an investment of more than <strong>US$500 million<\/strong>. The recognition was granted to <strong>Fideicomiso Punta Bergant\u00edn, Banreservas, AFP Reservas, Excel,<\/strong> and the <strong>Central Bank of the Dominican Republic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Innovative Transaction of the Year:<\/strong><br>Awarded to <strong>Banco Popular Dominicano<\/strong> for being the first financial institution to acquire a
