Collado highlights that the Dominican Republic received 189,051 cruise passengers in July<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tourism Minister David Collado announced that the Dominican Republic received 7,197,844 visitors between January and July 2025, representing a 3.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, a 14% rise from 2023, and a 49% increase compared to 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While unveiling the tourism data during an event at a hotel in Santo Domingo, the official stated that in the first seven months of this year, the country received 5,377,878 air travelers, reflecting a 1.7% increase over the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collado also noted that this growth is evident via maritime arrivals, with 1,819,966 cruise passengers arriving\u2014showing a 3.2% increase in the first seven months of 2025 compared to 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese two historic arrival figures amount to a total of 7,197,844 visitors in seven months. A new record in the history of Dominican tourism,\u201d said Minister Collado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further reported that only in July, the country welcomed 863,785 air travelers, 6.5% above the same month in 2024. Additionally, in July, the country received 189,051 cruise passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat means that just in July, the country received 1,052,836 visitors, which is a 3.4% increase compared to last year, a 12% rise from 2023, and 56% above 2019,\u201d Collado emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main sending countries were the United States with 52%, Canada with 7%, Argentina and Puerto Rico with 6%, followed by Colombia with 4%, Mexico with 3%, and Spain, Brazil, and Chile with 2% each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The airports that received the most tourists were Punta Cana with 59%, Las Am\u00e9ricas with 23%, Cibao with 13%, Puerto Plata with 3%, and La Romana and others with 1%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collado highlighted that thanks to strong public-private partnerships, tourism will continue to grow and diversify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
