Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Dominican Republic increased during the first quarter, with the Energy and Tourism sectors leading as the main recipients, according to data collected by Infotur Dominicano based on figures provided by the Central Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between January and March 2025, the country attracted a total of\u00a0US$1.329.3 billion, representing an increase of\u00a0US$57.2 million\u00a0compared to the\u00a0US$1.272.1 billion\u00a0recorded during the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of the sectors receiving the highest investment,\u00a0Energy\u00a0attracted\u00a0US$341.5 million\u00a0in the first quarter, compared to\u00a0US$366.1 million\u00a0in Q1 2024. Meanwhile, the\u00a0Tourism\u00a0sector received\u00a0US$318.7 million\u00a0between January and March 2025, reflecting a slight increase over the\u00a0US$317.3 million\u00a0recorded in the first quarter of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Real Estate\u00a0sector ranked third this quarter with\u00a0US$188.5 million, followed by\u00a0Mining\u00a0with\u00a0US$174.9 million, and\u00a0Commerce\/Industry\u00a0with\u00a0US$152.5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
