economy and an &#8220;enviable&#8221; geostrategic location, the Dominican Republic is consolidating itself as a key destination for nearshoring, a trend that is reconfiguring global supply chains, said President Luis Abinader this Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abinader explained that nearshoring has emerged as a competitive option to help strengthen the resilience of supply chains in strategic sectors, bringing companies closer to their target markets with greater security, efficiency, and reduced dependence on distant regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;For this reason, the Dominican Republic stands out as an unbeatable destination for those seeking new, more reliable sources of supply that are closer to their final consumer markets,&#8221; Abinader highlighted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is not just a place to do business; it is a platform for industrial and logistical excellence and a strategic partner ready to accompany American companies interested in expanding and growing,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The president stated that the country has cultivated &#8220;solid social, political, and macroeconomic stability,&#8221; which has established it as one of the most &#8220;dynamic&#8221; and &#8220;fastest-growing&#8221; nations in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He pointed out that the Dominican Republic is currently the seventh-largest economy in Latin America and the Caribbean, thanks to the &#8220;trust&#8221; and the &#8220;favorable investment climate&#8221; that has been built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abinader emphasized that businesses and foreign investments, particularly from the United States, are welcomed and supported with clear policies and a strong legal framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our enviable geostrategic location and the outstanding connectivity we offer, right in the heart of the Caribbean, just two hours by air and two days by sea from the United States, provide undeniable advantages for companies that need to meet the demanding deadlines of their consumers and are seeking agility and resilience,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;With the ability to deliver products in reduced times and with efficient operating costs, the Dominican Republic stands as the ideal partner.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Caribbean country boasts eight world-class international airports and records more than 182 daily flights, connecting it to around 170 international destinations, according to the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abinader made these statements during the Conference of the Americas Council, held in a hotel in the National District, which also gathered Vice President Raquel Pe\u00f1a and various government officials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Abinader Explained that Nearshoring Has Emerged as a Competitive Option to Contribute to the Resilience of Supply Chains in Strategic Sectors With a &#8220;growing&#8221;
