Participating at the closing of the Council of the Americas, President Luis Abinader said that the Government is promoting the National Semiconductor Strategy (Enfis), which will be the foundation of an economy that aspires to be an important part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This strategy means we will be promoting the development of the semiconductor industry in the region, to complement the reindustrialization process of that sector in the United States,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This effort highlights the positive synergy that we are experiencing today, the Government and you, businessmen, with whom we have established a relationship that goes beyond just trade,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stressed that the impact of this relationship of trust is reflected in the development of strategic sectors that have made the Dominican Republic a key destination for advanced manufacturing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also said that prestigious global companies such as Medtronic, Jabil, Baxter, B. Braun, Accumed, Cardinal Health, Eaton and Rockwell, have bet on the country, choosing it as a safe destination for investment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The results we can show as a country are due, to a large extent, to the strategy we have encouraged in response to the demands of an ever-changing global economy,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that strategic alliances have been forged with prestigious international academic institutions, such as Purdue University, “which has allowed us to draw a roadmap to develop a highly trained workforce in the semiconductor industry.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his presentation entitled “Dominican Republic: building the future through stability and investment”, the President said that nearshoring emerges as a competitive option in contributing to fortifying the supply chain of strategic sectors, by approaching their target markets with greater security, efficiency and reducing dependence on distant regions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Abinader, accompanied by Vice President Raquel Pe\u00f1a and First Lady Raquel Arbaje, indicated that it is not only a place to do business, but also an excellent industrial and logistics platform and a strategic partner willing to accompany North American companies interested in expanding and growing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Dominican Republic is a safe and reliable destination, which is ready to receive investments from the companies here today, to be the home of new productive operations and to offer an environment conducive to forming new businesses, as we have been doing.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He highlighted the words spoken by the Dominican hero Juan Pablo Duarte in the nineteenth century: “Progress is not magic, it is the fruit of bold decisions and unbreakable alliances,” and said that those words resonate today with renewed strength and are a reminder that the greatness of a nation is not built alone. but, with the sum of wills, in the union of efforts and in the clarity of a shared purpose.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
