{"id":11039,"date":"2024-12-30T13:08:20","date_gmt":"2024-12-30T13:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/?p=11039"},"modified":"2024-12-30T13:08:21","modified_gmt":"2024-12-30T13:08:21","slug":"u-s-sees-step-forward-in-aviation-with-open-skies-agreement-with-dominican-republic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/en\/u-s-sees-step-forward-in-aviation-with-open-skies-agreement-with-dominican-republic\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. sees &#8220;step forward&#8221; in aviation with Open Skies agreement with Dominican Republic"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The agreement was signed at the beginning of last August<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The United States said that the Open Skies agreement with the Dominican Republic, which entered into force on Thursday, represents a step forward in the liberalization of the international civil aviation sector in the Western Hemisphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A statement from the U.S. State Department said that this bilateral agreement establishes a modern civil aviation relationship with the Dominican Republic consistent with the U.S. Open Skies international aviation policy and with commitments to high aviation safety standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The document highlighted that the agreement also includes provisions that allow for unrestricted capacity and frequency of services, open route rights, a liberal charter scheme, expanded rights for all cargo and open codeshare opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with the State Department&#8217;s statement, Dominican President, Luis Abinader, welcomed the entry into force of the agreement on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Good news for the Dominican Republic! We have been notified that the necessary procedures for the entry into force of the &#8216;Open Skies&#8217; Air Transport Agreement between our country and the United States have been finalized,&#8221; the President wrote on his X account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the U.S. government, the agreement further expands &#8220;our strong&#8221; economic and trade partnership; it promotes people-to-people links and creates new opportunities for airlines, travel companies and customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This agreement means airlines can offer more affordable, convenient and efficient air services to travelers and carriers, which in turn stimulates the creation of high-quality jobs and economic growth, the U.S. Administration said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement was signed at the beginning of last August, after which President Abinader stressed that the initiative represents an &#8220;important advance&#8221; for his country&#8217;s economy, since it will increase international connectivity and attract new investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The new instrument allows the airlines of both states to offer more affordable and efficient services, in addition to stimulating trade to and from the country,&#8221; said the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The United States is the Dominican Republic&#8217;s main trading partner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United States said that the Open Skies agreement with the Dominican Republic, which entered into force on Thursday, represents a step forward in the liberalization of the international civil aviation sector in the Western Hemisphere.
