{"id":10747,"date":"2024-09-16T01:02:17","date_gmt":"2024-09-16T01:02:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/?p=10747"},"modified":"2024-09-16T01:02:23","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T01:02:23","slug":"santos-25-of-the-countrys-energy-will-be-renewable-by-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmklawyers.com\/en\/santos-25-of-the-countrys-energy-will-be-renewable-by-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Santos: 25% of the country&#8217;s energy will be renewable by 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos Echavarr\u00eda, announced that in 2025 1,567.47 megawatts of renewable energy will be added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos Echavarr\u00eda, highlighted how the country has 27 renewable energy projects in various stages of construction, which together will soon contribute 1,567.47 megawatts to the system, in addition to the 1,229.65 megawatts already in operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He specified that these efforts are essential to achieve the ambitious goal of covering 25% of the national energy demand with renewable sources by 2025 and 30% by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He pointed out that seven renewable energy plants will begin operating before the end of the year, contributing 1,229.65 megawatts and another 13 to follow in 2025, injecting 1,567.47 megawatts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stressed that storage batteries will be needed to integrate renewable energy at peak consumption hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the transition to renewable energy is not only an urgent need for the world, but an opportunity for the country to lead the way towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister spoke during the Sixth Meeting of the Regional Committee of the International Solar Alliance for the Latin American and Caribbean Region, held at the Catalonia Hotel, where delegates and international experts in renewable energy from member countries met, including Argentina, Cuba, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Nicaragua and Peru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was attended by the director general of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), Ajay Mathur, and officials from the country&#8217;s electricity sector, including the superintendent of Electricity, Andr\u00e9s Astacio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos Echavarr\u00eda, announced that in 2025 1,567.47 megawatts of renewable energy will be added.
