Preliminary data reveals that total exports showed an 8.6% increase compared to June 2023, reaching $1,134.88 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adozona&#8217;s President, Luis Jos\u00e9 Bonilla Bojos, stated that this performance reaffirms the crucial role of free trade zones as a key driver for economic growth and job creation in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;These results reflect the continuous commitment of the export sector and its ability to adapt and grow in a dynamic global environment,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Export Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of June 2024, total exports amounted to $6,334.32 million, representing a 3.1% increase compared to $6,145.19 million accumulated by June 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, national exports reported $1,922.99 million in the first half of 2024, slightly below the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exports from free trade zones reached $4,258.46 million for the first half of the year, showing a 6.8% increase compared to $3,987.92 million exported by June 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the last 12 months, annualized exports from free trade zones reached a record $8,322.5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Projections<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adozona estimates that, if the trend continues, exports could surpass $8,500 million by the end of 2024, marking a milestone for the export sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The association reiterated its commitment to continue working in collaboration with the government and all relevant stakeholders to further strengthen the free trade zones sector, aiming to foster innovation, competitiveness, and the continuous progress of the national economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dominican Free Zones Association (Adozona) celebrated the results published by the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) regarding sector exports for June 2024, setting a new record at $752.96 million.
