The Punta Bergant\u00edn tourism project aims to “make a lasting mark on the tourism landscape of the region” and create an innovative destination in the Dominican Republic with financial viability, environmental sustainability, and responsible development to offer unforgettable tourist experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This observation was made by the project director, Andr\u00e9s Marranzini Grull\u00f3n, who announced that the first hotels will be developed with the Martin\u00f3n Group, “and we are in discussions with the Hyatt brand, projects that will have an investment of US $180 million, which is a clear sign that we are on the right track.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview with Plus Magazine, Marranzini Grull\u00f3n stated that large hotel investments like these have not been made in the northern area for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He indicated that adding new hotel rooms to the existing offering in the destination “is possibly the necessary complement as an objective to trigger new air routes from issuers, especially from the East Coast of the United States in addition to the traditional ones.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In other words, the idea is to launch a new offering in a destination like Puerto Plata, “and we are betting that it will be a complete success,” Marranzini stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that due to the magnitude and the need to attract investors and world-class operators, a project like this requires the support and credibility of a group like Banreservas and the marketing support to reposition the Puerto Plata destination, facilitated by the government through the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he explained that the project must be expanded as much as possible by incorporating financial actors, investors, real estate developers, and hoteliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He ensured that sustainability and the incorporation of Punta Bergant\u00edn’s own ecosystem will be the fundamental presentation card, as the international design firm GVA has respected and incorporated all the native elements, both flora and fauna, of the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Punta Bergant\u00edn, more than an academic field, will be an innovation center, with the development of companies and research, collaborative workspaces, and business acceleration programs, which will be governed by a foundation that guarantees its long-term existence, Marranzini reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I am convinced that Puerto Plata’s offering as a destination will have a positive social impact, probably being the only destination in the country with a town with history, with personality incorporated into its environment, and with elements of exclusivity.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To attract diverse audiences, Marranzini said they are taking firm steps to stimulate the film industry in the northern region of the country, “and to encourage the enjoyment of the area by all visitors with community development and recreation spaces in various areas of the development, including beach clubs, restaurants, shops, and creating a residential community with quality services.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
