El ministro de Economía, Isidoro Santana, y el ministro de Hacienda, Donald Guerrero, conjuntamente con sus equipos técnicos, dialogaron con una delegación del Banco Mundial sobre la Estrategia País y el programa que se emprenderá desde el 2020 hasta el 2024.
La estrategia de alianza con el país del Banco Mundial (CPF por sus siglas en inglés) se fundamentará en tres pilares: fortalecimiento de las condiciones para el crecimiento inclusivo y equitativo, la construcción del capital humano y el fomento de la sostenibilidad ambiental y resiliencia. Estas iniciativas se apoyan en siete objetivos específicos que ameritarán la concreción tanto de proyectos como de diagnósticos para acelerar el desarrollo del país.
Por el Banco Mundial participaron en la discusión el representante en el país de este organismo, Alessandro Legrottaglie, así como parte de su equipo en la República Dominicana, y otros integrantes que desde Washington se ocupan de los asuntos dominicanos.
Para el ministro de Economía esta próxima alianza estratégica con el Banco Mundial seguirá apoyando la mejoría de las condiciones del sector educación, deuda social ancestral que debe continuar saldándose a la población con políticas públicas efectivas. También destacó la importancia de que el CPF 2020-2024 incluya líneas que permitan la coordinación de actividades que puedan mejorar la resiliencia del país y el manejo de los recursos naturales.
“Es de singular trascendencia, además, que el Banco Mundial nos permita contar con trabajos diagnósticos que puedan informar las políticas públicas de manera efectiva en áreas de prioridad para el país”, manifestó Santana.

The Minister of Economy, Isidoro Santana, and the Minister of Finance, Donald Guerrero, together with their technical teams, spoke with a World Bank delegation on the Country Strategy and the program that will be undertaken from 2020 to 2024.
The World Bank´s country partnership strategy (CPF) will be based on three pillars: strengthening the conditions for inclusive and equitable growth, the construction of human capital, and the promotion of environmental sustainability and resilience. These initiatives are based on seven specific objectives that will need both carrying out projects and diagnostics to accelerate the country´s development.
The World Bank´s representative in the country, Alessandro Legrottaglie, participated in the discussion along with part of his team in the Dominican Republic, and other members who are dealing with Dominican affairs from Washington.
According to the Minister of Economy, this next strategic alliance with the World Bank will continue to support improving the conditions of the education sector, an age-old social debt that must be paid back the population with effective public policies. He also stressed the importance that the CPF 2020-2024 includes lines that allow the coordination of activities to improve the country’s resilience and the management of natural resources.
«In addition, it is of singular importance that the World Bank allows us to have diagnostic work that can notify public policies effectively in areas of priority for the country,» Santana said.
