El presidente Luis Abinader no está dispuesto a “bajar la guardia” en los protocolos sanitarios que se implementan en los aeropuertos y establecimientos turísticos del país, es por ello que encabezó el acto de firma simbólica del gran acuerdo de temporada de invierno 2020, para el cumplimiento del protocolo sanitario en el sector turístico.
El evento fue llevado a cabo el fin de semana en el hotel Hyatt Ziva, en Punta Cana, provincia La Altagracia; como una forma de seguir reforzando el Plan de Recuperación Responsable del Turismo en el país.
En las palabras centrales del evento, el mandatario reconoció el trabajo y disposición del Gabinete de Turismo. “Este plan se ha ido ejecutando de manera impecable, y debo agradecer a todos y cada uno de ustedes que han trabajado eficazmente en cada una de las tareas asumidas”, expresó Abinader.
Con el plan, que ha garantizado el repunte del turismo, el presidente enfatizó en la implementación de nuevos protocolos certificados, que han permitido la adaptación de la industria hotelera a las mejores prácticas internacionales y al fortalecimiento de la gestión de seguridad de salud, en los hoteles y otros establecimientos.
“Lanzamos nuestro novedoso Plan de Asistencia al Viajero con Cobertura Covid-19. Se flexibilizaron los procesos de entrada de viajeros y se implementaron pruebas más seguras en los aeropuertos. Desde el Ministerio de Salud se inició la publicación semanal de un boletín Covid especializado en zonas turísticas”, apuntó el presidente en su discurso.
De igual forma, el jefe de Gobierno resaltó el lanzamiento del programa de turismo interno “Embajadores de lo Nuestro”, resultado de una alianza en conjunto con la banca, para apoyar a los hogares y las agencias de viajes, como una forma de reinventarnos en medio de esta crisis pandémica.
Abinader aprovechó para expresar su gratitud ante la diligencia y disposición de una parte importante de este sector, “Hoy debo agradecer también a los aeropuertos, que han abierto sus brazos a todos los cambios y colaborado de manera diligente, y a todos los hoteles, que han ido apostando a la apertura e invirtiendo en la seguridad de sus turistas. De corazón, muchas gracias.”
De su lado, el ministro de Turismo, David Collado, manifestó que, con orgullo y determinación, República Dominicana salió a la vanguardia en la aplicación de los protocolos en el sector para enfrentar el Covid 19, y que al día de hoy Quisqueya sea el país mejor preparado para el invierno de la región.
El presidente Luis Abinader se mostró enfático en pedir la colaboración de todos los sectores, de modo que no se baje la guardia ante las medidas que se han llevado a cabo, para evitar el riesgo de nuevos brotes del Covid-19 en el país.
“Es por esto por lo que hoy vuelvo a pedir su colaboración. Nos espera una temporada con mayor flujo de visitantes extranjeros, en medio de festividades y con una población agotada del encierro. Todo esto requiere de un mayor compromiso con el cumplimento de protocolos, mejora de los niveles de servicio, distanciamiento, cuidado de la salud, y esfuerzos para reducir el riesgo de infección”, reiteró.
Adelantó que pidió al Ministerio de Turismo que se realice una jornada extendida para pasar balance y pidió a los integrantes del sector, la más sincera colaboración en el apego estricto a los protocolos y en el reforzamiento de todas las medidas para reducir el riesgo de contagio.
En el discurso, el presidente destacó también el papel preponderante de las alianzas estratégicas que se han llevado a cabo a favor de este sector y toda la población.
“Desde la Dirección General de Alianzas público – privada y junto al Ministerio de Turismo, hemos estado trabajando en iniciativas para acelerar el desarrollo del Sur. En adición, hemos trabajado, junto al DPP, un plan de relanzamiento para la zona norte. No hemos parado, porque conocemos bien la responsabilidad que tenemos entre manos”, expresó.
